THE SIXTH SUNDAY OF LENT : PALM SUNDAY

Dear friends,

I hope that you are all well and that you have all had a good week. We extend a warm welcome to everyone. Please join us for worship. Please see our parish website and parish facebook page for information of our weekly services, forthcoming events and devotional aids.

This weekend we stand at the threshold of Holy Week, the most Holy and most important week of the Christian year. We are invited to walk with Jesus into Jerusalem, to witness afresh all that will happen to him there. We will see him welcomed initially before being betrayed and put to death in the most horrific way - all for love of us. Next Sunday we will proclaim the good news that Jesus, who died on the Cross, is alive again. This week we see the depth of his love for us, we see him sharing our sufferings and taking them to the cross that we might share the glory of his risen life. What wonderful news for us and for all the world. We are not alone, God is with us, never again can we be separated from him, as Saint Paul wrote to the Romans.

Your friend and priest, Fr. Gary Powell.

Church News.

Everyone is welcome to join us for worship during the week and for our social groups and meetings.

Watch out for new community events beginning over the next few months in Neuadd St. Catwg’s Hall.

Holy Week 2026
This week we celebrate Holy Week, the most sacred, the most important week of the Churches year. Our services are detailed on the back of this newsletter, and everyone is welcome to come and join us in our celebrations.

For those who may be unable to join us in Church we will provide services and devotions on our website. Please look out for them.

This week we are invited to join Jesus and the disciples and to walk with them through the events of the last week of Jesus’ life on earth. We celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and are invited to join Jesus and the disciples at the Last Supper as Jesus kneels and washes their feet before commanding them to love one another as he loves us. We witness the abhorrence of the trail and stand at the foot of the cross with Mary and John remembering that Jesus hangs there for us. On Easter Day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with the wonderful news that he is alive and that nothing, not even his death, can keep him or his love from us.
